Chapter 5-10: Family

Perfetti was really a delight of a kid. There was nothing I loved more than to hear her laugh and smile, and she was a quick learner for both walking and talking.

Of course, before I knew it, she was old enough to head off to school and be a big girl. It was…crazy, really. I couldn’t believe how fast she’d grown up!

She was an imaginative child, always playing with that special doll or imagining herself as a queen or pirate or adventurer. I sometimes wondered if I’d been that crazy. Maybe I had!

Of course, she wasn’t my only little one for long. Soon, she had two little siblings, Azure Blossom and Cobalt Flame. The twins were absolute delights, and it seemed like they were just as imaginative as Perfetti!

With three kids, two of whom were well under school age, I was no longer touring, but the band was still putting out albums and I was always practicing. Sometimes with an audience.

But hey, being a parent was my most important job. And…I loved it.

And there was one thing I loved more than anything else.

Reading my kids to sleep was a delight, and a great bonding experience.

Yeah, being a parent was pretty great. Hey, might even be better than being a rock star…

But my dreams were just on hold. When the younger two were old enough…I had plenty of life to live.

Chapter 5-9: White Wedding

Song: White Wedding // Billy Idol

Hey little sister, what have you done?
Hey little sister, who’s the only one?
Hey little sister, who’s your superman?
Hey little sister, who’s the one you want?
Hey little sister, shotgun

Aure’s little boy, Blackberry Dulce, joined us right as it came time for Perfetti to get a bit older. My mother had sent her a special gift, a strange doll that my little girl seemed oh-so-attached to.

Not long after Blackberry was born…

Yeah, Titan proposed. Aureolin Dulce prepared to become Aureolin Masla.

There’s only one thing a good best girlfriend can do.

Throw a hell of a bachelorette party! YEAAH!

There were male…uh, dancers…

Drunken toasts…

Champagne spraying…

And oh yes, hot naked men. Hot tubs, how I love thee. ~.^

It’s a nice day to start again
It’s a nice day for a white wedding
It’s a nice day to start again

The day of the actual wedding was beautiful. Aure had chosen a slightly off-white dress, since she felt white wasn’t quite right…but she still looked beautiful.

All our friends were there, and I finally got to meet Wis’s mystery girl, Calypso Strawberry.

Hey little sister, who is it you’re with?
Hey little sister, what’s your vice or wish?
Hey little sister, shotgun, oh yeah
Hey little sister, who’s your superman?
Hey little sister, shotgun

It’s a nice day to start again
It’s a nice day for a white wedding
It’s a nice day to start again

Watching them exchange vows was…amazingly sweet.

“I, Titan Masla, take you, Aureolin Dulce, to be my lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health, for rich or for poor, for better or for worse, until death do us part.”

“I, Aureolin Dulce, take you, Titan Masla, to be my lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health, for rich or for poor, for better or for worse, until death do us part.”

“Pick it up!”
Take me back home, yeah

Hey little sister, what have you done?
Hey little sister, who’s the only one?
I’ve been away for so long
I’ve been away for so long
I let you go for so long

It’s a nice day to start again
It’s a nice day for a white wedding
It’s a nice day to start again

Watching them kiss made me melt. They were so sweet together, and I was happy that Aure had bounced back so well from what happened with Port.

There is nothing fair in this world
There is nothing safe in this world
And there’s nothing sure in this world
And there’s nothing pure in this world
Look for something left in this world

Oh, was I jealous. I…could only dream of a wedding like that. Sure, I was happy, but…hey, I wanted a big white wedding with friends and cake.

But more than jealous, I was…happy.

They cut the cake together, and everyone had some. It was a fantastic dessert, the perfect topping on their perfect day.

That night, after everyone had gone and Titan and Aure had packed their things and little Blackberry into a car and left, I decided…it was time to reacquaint myself with my husband.

Start again
It’s a nice day for a white wedding
It’s a nice day to start again
It’s a nice day to start again
It’s a nice day to start again

Chapter 5-8: Changes

Song: Changes // Butterfly Boucher ft. David Bowie

Oh yeah
Still don’t know what I was lookin for
And my time was running wild
A million dead-end streets
Every time I thought I’d got it made
It seemed the taste was not so sweet
So I turned myself to face me
But I’ve never caught a glimpse
Of how the others must see the faker
I’m much too fast to take that test

That night was the last time any of us saw Port. I must’ve screamed at him for thirty minutes, and Aure did her best to defend him, but I was sickened. There was no way he had good motives for seducing Aure.

And then he proved me right, because he vanished. No contact, nothing. Thank  Berry we had Deluge, because he took over managing for us, but we never heard from Port again. It was hard on Aure, since she found out soon after that she was pregnant with his child.

(Turn and face the strange)
Don’t want to be a richer one
(Turn and face the strange)
Just gonna have to be a different one
Time may change me
But I can’t trace time

On the children front, my daughter Perfetti Dulce came into the world fine and healthy. We knew her exact due date and I went into the hospital for a very, very easy delivery.

I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
So the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
They’re immune to your consultations
They’re quite aware of what they’re going through

Wisteria came to speak to me soon after Perfetti came home.

“Eh, Harley,” she said, “you know that Port was really the only one keeping us all in one house, right? And…you’re starting your own family now…”

“Wis, what are you trying to say?” I asked.

“I…met this girl.” She said. “Well, I mean, I met her before we came here…she lives here, and Harley, I want to move in with her.”

“Wis, that’s great!” I said. “I’m so glad you found someone!”

Yeah, Wis moved out. And she wasn’t the only one falling in love.

(Turn and face the strange)
Don’t tell them to grow up and out of it
(Turn and face the strange)
Where’s your shame
You’ve left us up to our necks in it
Time may change me
But you can’t trace time

Titan had begun slowly wooing Aure soon after Port left and left her heartbroken. If there was anyone who could mend my sweet cousin’s heart, it was him, I knew it.

Strange fascination, fascinating me
Ah changes are taking the pace I’m going through

So when I peeked into the nursery and saw them kissing…well…

It just seemed so right.

(Turn and face the strange)
Oh, look out you rock ’n rollers
(Turn and face the strange)
Pretty soon now you’re gonna get a little older
Time may change me
But I can’t trace time
I said that time may change me
But I can’t trace time

Chapter 5-7: Trouble in Paradise

Song: Trouble in Paradise // Bruce Springsteen
(Couldn’t find a video D:)

You do the drying, I’ll do the dishes
Who’ll do the crying when all the wishes don’t come true
You do the washing, I’ll do the folding
Whose heart is breaking
When whose arms are holding someone new
Sittin’ ona peaceful lake sunnin’
Didn’t hear the roar of the waterfall coming
When it’s all a storybook story
When it’s all so easy and nice
Here comes trouble in paradise

I came home from the studio that day and had to make a run for the bathroom to retch up my guts. Leftover hangover, I assumed. Damn it.

But…I didn’t spend much time there. I ran upstairs and found Deluge still there, waiting.

“Look, last night, I-I don’t really remember all of what happened, and…”

He cut me off.

“Harlequin,” he said, “if you are trying to say that you regret what happened, I…find myself quite sad. Because I regret none of it.”

He reached up and brushed my cheek. I rested my hand on his, and he stepped forward.

Suddenly, he was kissing me, and…I knew that this was right. I didn’t care that my wedding had been in bikinis at the poolside with no one but me and him because it didn’t matter. Deluge was the only one for me, now and forever.

A few weeks later, I learned that I had something better than a husband. I had a husband and a baby. I was pregnant, and the child had likely been conceived that first wild night when we were married.

You did the dusting, I did the sweeping
You did the driving oh and I did the sleeping a little too long
On a picnic ‘neath the sky so blue
We didn’t see the rain and heartache coming through
When it’s all an old black and white movie
And you’re sure you’ve seen the ending twice
Here comes trouble in paradise

Deluge worked at his father’s company-his father, as it turned out, was the head of the Mull Inc. megacorporation. I hadn’t really put two and two together until he told me.

Well, it meant he was out a lot, and one of the days he was at work, Port cornered me.

“Harley, do you have any idea what your behavior is costing the band?” He asked angrily. “Your name is plastered all over the tabloids and the coverage is not flattering! A drunken wedding, now a drunken baby, and you’re dragging the Mull family’s name through the mud as well!”

I cringed backwards. He was exactly right. The tabloids had latched onto my one instance of bad behavior and declared that I was a wild, crazy rockstar (even though I’d been a mouse since!) and now they were already saying I’d be an unfit mother.

But then…

“Y’know what, Port? Forget you and the tabloids.” (I must confess, not my exact words.) “They’ll write what they want and people will keep buying our albums and coming to our shows.” I said angrily. “I love Deluge and I’m glad I married him, even if it was a crazy shotgun wedding. I don’t regret a thing.”

I turned around and stomped off, sulking in my room for a few hours.

Fortunately, Deluge found me. He didn’t even ask what was wrong, just pulled me into a hug and let me cry it out on his shoulder. I was angry and frustrated…and it was about to get worse. I decided to take a little swim to clear my head.

My head was not cleared. I got treated to the sight of splashing, sluttering, aand bumping in the hot tub. That could only mean one thing.

And…It. Got. Worse.

You sais everything was fine
I’m sorry, baby, I didn’t see the signs
Oh so beautifully you read your lines
But in a play where the hero has no vice
And love comes without a price
So does trouble in paradise

Chapter 5-6: Waking Up in Briocheport

Song: Waking Up In Vegas // Katy Perry

You gotta help me out
It’s all a blur last night
We need a taxi
‘Cause you’re hung over and I’m broke

I woke up the morning after the concert with a raging hangover and the vague feeling that I did something I shouldn’t have. Whoo.

“Oh Berry, how drunk did I get last night…?”

“Fairly well drunk, I think.”

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I about jumped out of my panties when I heard a male voice coming from my bed oh Berry…

I turned slowly to look.

I lost my fake ID
But you lost the motel key
Spare me your freaking dirty looks
Now don’t blame me

It. Was. Him. Deluge, the literal man of my dreams. He was in bed with me.

What the hell happened last night?!

The memories were slow and blurry…

You wanna cash out
And get the hell outta town
Don’t be a baby
Remember what you told me

I remembered a club, and a bubble machine (teehee, bubbles~!) and I definitely remembered getting a little drunk.

Shut up and put your money where your mouth is
That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas
Get up and shake the glitter off your clothes now
That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas

I remembered starting to get a little frisky in the club hottub, and getting booted out by the bouncer.

Why are these lights so bright?
Did we get hitched last night?
Dressed up like Elvis
Why am I wearing your class ring?

And then…

Oh. Berry.

Don’t call your mother
‘Cause now we’re partners in crime
Don’t be a baby
Remember what you told me

Shut up and put your money where your mouth is
That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas
Get up and shake the glitter off your clothes now
That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas

You got me into this
Information overload, situation lost control
Send out an S.O.S.

Ha, and get some cash out
We’re gonna tear up the town
No, don’t be a baby
Remember what you told me

Remember what you told me
Remember what you told me
Told me, told me, oh yeah

Shut up and put your money where your mouth is
That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas
Get up and shake the glitter off your clothes now
That’s what you get for waking up in Vegas

That’s what you get, baby
Shake the glitter
Shake, shake, shake the glitter
Gimme some cash out, baby
Gimme some cash out, baby

I just really hoped I wasn’t pregnant…!

Chapter 5-5: Briocheport

When Portage told all of us to get together in the living room, I had a feleing he was going to chew us the hell out, and I probably deserved it. With every passing day, I was getting more and more distant from the band, more lost in my own world.

Things got…tough between Wis and I after the release party. It was hard to be around her, and the band was really suffering because of the awkwardness between us. I spent a lot of time on my own, playing my guitar late into the night. Thank goodness we had no neighbors.

We tried to record some new singles, but…everything pretty much sounded like shit.

My dreams were getting fainter each night, the memories fuzzy by day. There was little left but a feeling of…anticipation, like something was going to happen, but nothing ever did.

So basically, I was screwing up our harmony, and I was all ready for my lecture.

So you can imagine my surprise when that wasn’t what I got.

“The music industry in Briochepoirt is really taking off,” Port said, “and the label wants you to set up shop there. They have a house purchased and everything.”

Song: New York, New York // Frank Sinatra

Start spreading the news,
I’m leaving today.
I want to be a part of it –
New York, New York.

My brain pretty much went “lolwhut?” (I think I might have said that, too, I’m really not sure.)

But then again, everyone else seemed pretty surprised too…and Wis looked really, really pleased. I wondered why.

These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
And step around the heart of it
New York, New York.

I want to wake up in a city,
That doesn’t sleep,
To find I’m king of the hill- ah-
Top of the heap.

From the minute I first saw the skyline, I knew Briocheport was where I belonged. There was something in the city that…called to me like nothing else ever had before. I needed to be here. This city was alive in a way the tiny town of Twizzlerbrook had never been, and I was going to darned well be alive with it!

My little town blues
Are melting away
I’m gonna make a brand new start of it
In old New York.

Our house was pretty mice, too. There was plenty of room for everyone, and it was isolated enough that the paparazzi would have trouble finding us no matter how hard they tried.

If I can make it there,
I’d make it anywhere
It’s up to you,
New York, New York.

We had a small gig our second night in town, a concert at the Butterfly Esplande. Since we were pretty popular, people showed up, but not a huge lot.

During our third song, I did a quick scan of the crowd for reactions. And that was when I saw him, at the far edge of the gazebo. There was no mistaking it, I knew exactly who that was. My heart started to pound.

I put my guitar away, even as I heard Port’s loud voice asking what the hell I was doing and informing me that I was ruining everything. I flipped him off behind my back, where no one else could see. This was destiny, and I was not missing out because Port was getting his panties in a twist.

I slipped through the crowd, and got to him.

“Hey. I’m Harley Dulce. You…look familiar.”

“Deluge Mull. You look quite familiar, too, Harley…”

Wow, has it really been almost four months since I last posted here? (Three and a half, to be exact?)

So, as most of you have noticed, I have NOT been posting Sims story updates, here or on any of my other blogs, for several months. There are a couple of reasons for this: school, life, distracted with other things…the list goes on. I hadn’t even cracked my Sims game open for months, until we had a power outage at my house. My laptop runs on battery, but no power = no WiFi = no internet = sad Terra. D: Until I saw that Late Night icon sitting on my desktop and decided to give the game a whirl again. Long story short, I did, and I’m hooked on Sims again =D

So. Good news? This story WILL be coming back. Other good news? I’ll also be running a regular legacy, from the beginning, going back to the name of my first legacy family ever. Yup, the Kalonimoses are back for round three. Read that one at Bad news? At the moment, I’m not planning on going back to anything else. That’s AT THE MOMENT, of course, and it could change, but for now…no.

I hope at least a few of my old readers are still around, and can forgive my looong hiatus! Sorry guys, but I promise, the Dulces are back and better than ever!

Lots of love,
